Aside from the noise and damage to your home they can cause, bats should be evicted because of the related health and safety concerns. These include diseases such as rabies and histoplasmosis that can develop in their droppings if not removed. Bats also carry a parasite known as bat bugs - a close relative to the bed bug. Bat bugs can feed off humans as well as bats. Professional treatment may be required if you feel you’ve had bats with bat bugs once you have evicted the bats with BatPak.

The optimal times to evict bats are in late summer or early fall, before hibernation, and in spring, provided it’s before the birthing season and with consistent warm nights that increase insect activity. These periods avoid disrupting breeding and ensure mothers aren’t separated from pups. Always remember to check local regulations when planning to evict bats, as there may be specifi c guidelines and protections in place.

Repellents are not recommended, as they are often ineffective and may harm the bats. It’s better to focus on exclusion methods that allow bats to leave but prevent re-entry.

The eviction process can take several days to weeks, depending on the size of the bat colony, time of year, and proper installation of the BatPak.
